From July 12th to 19th, 2024, the serene village of Kryoneri became the creative haven for a group of 13 young musicians from Greece, Germany, and Slovakia. They gathered for the Erasmus+ project “Create Change,” which was designed to blend their passion for music with a commitment to environmental awareness.
Over the course of the week, these talented individuals collaborated in small groups to compose three original songs centered around the theme of the environment. The creative process was intense and collaborative, with each musician bringing their unique perspective and style to the compositions. The goal was not only to create music but also to inspire listeners to reflect on the pressing environmental issues of our time.
As the week progressed, the participants bonded over their shared love of music and their common cause, forming connections that transcended language and cultural barriers. They rehearsed their compositions with dedication, preparing for the culmination of their efforts – a concert to be held on the final evening in Kryoneri’s local amphitheatre.
The concert was a resounding success, with the amphitheatre filled with an enthusiastic audience that included locals and visitors alike. The musicians performed their three original songs, each of which conveyed a powerful message about the environment, urging listeners to consider the impact of human actions on the planet. In addition to their original compositions, the musicians also played a selection of well-known songs, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere that resonated with everyone present.
The “Create Change” project in Kryoneri was more than just a musical endeavor; it was an initiative that brought together young people from different countries to work towards a common goal of raising environmental awareness through the universal language of music. The experience left a lasting impact on both the participants and the local community, fostering a sense of unity and purpose that will be remembered long after the final notes of their songs have faded.

Reflections from the Greek team
The Greek team had an unforgettable experience during the Create Change mobility in Berlin, Germany, held from November 15–22, 2024. This Erasmus project was a journey of creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange for the entire team.
Throughout the week, we participated in various workshops that challenged and inspired us, helping us grow both as individuals and as musicians. From songwriting to rehearsals, each activity brought new learning opportunities and allowed us to achieve all the objectives of the project.
Berlin-Spandau, where we spent the week, left a lasting impression on us. The rehearsal facilities were exceptional, providing the perfect environment for creativity and collaboration. The atmosphere in Spandau, with its mix of history and modernity, made our experience even more special.
We are incredibly grateful to the organizers for giving us this amazing opportunity. Their warm and professional approach made us feel welcomed and supported throughout the project. Working with talented musicians from Slovakia, Germany, and beyond was inspiring and enriching, and it showed us the power of music to unite people from different cultures.
A heartfelt thank you to the Create Change project for this life-changing experience. It was a week we will never forget, and we can’t wait to share the music we created with the world!
